Ava has been such a sweet big sister to her little Ellie. She was such a brave little "goose" (her new nickname, she loves it) when Mommy got whisked away to the hospital, left behind with complete strangers. She has been our rock. Jeffrey and I stay strong because of her. And up until today, she was very timid and shy around Ellie; scared to touch her or talk to her. But those days have passed. She was all about "kiss it my baby sister" or "I touch it my baby sister" today. It's our new motto. Ellie looks less scary, no more tubes or headgear. She looks like a normal, although very tiny, baby girl. She was even wearing tiny pink premie jammies today, so cute. Ava loves her sister so much, and it showed today in the sincerity of her voice, and the smile on her chubby little face. I am so thankful for my two girls, and the love that is already so apparent between them. What an amazing day!

I am so thankful to have my two nieces. Ava and Ellie look so beautiful in their first photo together. Ellie is such a fighter and I can't wait to meet her. I hope she knows Uncle Brian can't wait to meet her.
