Tuesday, April 15th Update

Ellie is looking good and may be coming home sooner then we originally thought. The only thing that is keeping her from being discharged at this point is her eating. As of now, she is being bottle fed 6 times a day, and tube fed 2 times a day. She is taking her entire bottle feeding almost every time it is offered to her. When she is being bottle or breast fed at every feeding, and she is completely finishing each feeding over the course of 24 hours, she will be sent home. The nurses have been really aggressive when it comes to increasing her feedings. I am thinking that the nasal-gastric tube will be removed before the end of the week, and she will strictly will be bottled fed. So we are keeping our fingers crossed...

Ellie has hit another major milestone, SHE IS OVER 4 POUNDS!!! Still so small, yet big. I have officially gotten used to her tininess. She is really filling out, and continues to consistently gain weight, although she did lose a few grams on one instance this week. She is 4 pounds 3 ounces as of tonight. We are just continuing to pray for her healthy homecoming, and it doesn't feel that far off!
