April 10th & 11th Update

Ellie weighs 3lbs 14 ounces now. She is consistently gaining weight, which is great. Jeffrey and I are really working with her to get her to bottle feed. She is having trouble staying awake during her feedings, but we are confident that she'll gain more interest in the next week. The doctor says she is doing well, and that she is on her way to her homecoming...Hopefully in the next 2-4 weeks. She just needs to eat.... Eat Ellie Eat!!!! She'll get the hang of it. The doctor explains that the mechanism to suck, swallow, and breath typically develops around 34 weeks of gestation. Ellie was 34 weeks yesterday, so we are keeping our fingers crossed!!!
